Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
UPWRD is a financial education brand operated from Quebec, Canada. This policy explains what personal information may be collected, how it may be used and shared, and the choices available to you.
01Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with UPWRD, the personal information collected may include:
- your name and email address;
- account and product-access information;
- information you voluntarily submit through forms;
- customer support communications;
- transaction-related information;
- website usage data;
- IP address, browser and device information;
- referral source;
- approximate location derived from technical information, where applicable; and
- data from cookies or similar technologies.
Not every category is collected in every situation. What is collected depends on the pages you visit, the forms you complete and the products you purchase.
02Payment information
Purchases may be processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Payment information is processed by Stripe subject to its applicable terms and privacy practices. UPWRD does not directly store complete credit or debit card information.
03How information may be used
Personal information may be used to:
- provide the products, services and resources you request;
- create and manage your access to purchased content;
- process transactions through applicable providers;
- respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- send service-related and transactional communications;
- send marketing emails where consent or another lawful basis permits;
- improve UPWRD products and understand website performance;
- support security and fraud prevention; and
- meet applicable legal and record-keeping obligations.
04Email communications
You may receive transactional or service emails relating to a purchase or request, educational resources you asked for, and marketing communications where consent or another lawful basis permits.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by writing to hello@learnupwrd.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily stop essential transactional messages, such as purchase confirmations or important notices about access to a product you bought.
06Analytics and advertising technologies
As of the last updated date above, no analytics or advertising tracking technology is installed on this website. The site includes a neutral internal event layer that only forwards information if such a tool is added in the future; on its own it does not send data anywhere.
UPWRD may later add technologies such as Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, the Meta Pixel or the TikTok Pixel. If any of these are added, this section and the last updated date will be revised to describe what is active.
Note for review: Any tracking or advertising technology added in the future must be listed here before or when it goes live. Quebec privacy rules may also require a consent mechanism (for example a cookie banner) for non-essential technologies — this should be confirmed with a Quebec lawyer before such tools are installed.
07Third-party service providers
UPWRD uses third-party providers to operate its business. These may include providers for hosting, course delivery, payment processing, email, analytics, forms, customer communications, website functionality and general business operations. Providers may change over time.
These providers may process personal information on UPWRD’s behalf under applicable agreements and their own privacy policies, for the purposes described in this policy.
08Disclosure of information
Personal information may be disclosed:
- to service providers who help operate UPWRD, for the purposes described above;
- where required to comply with a legal obligation or valid legal process;
- where reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, security threats or misuse; and
- in connection with a business transaction such as a reorganization, sale or transfer of assets, subject to applicable law.
UPWRD does not sell personal information.
09Cross-border processing
Some service providers may process or store personal information outside Quebec or outside Canada. Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed, including lawful access by authorities there.
Note for review: Quebec law may require a privacy impact assessment and specific disclosure before personal information is communicated outside the province. Once UPWRD’s providers are confirmed, this should be assessed with a Quebec lawyer and the relevant jurisdictions can be named here.
10Data retention
Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, for legitimate business requirements, to meet legal or accounting obligations, to resolve disputes and to maintain security. No fixed retention period is stated here because UPWRD’s retention schedule has not yet been set.
11Security
UPWRD uses, or intends to use, reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorized access and misuse. However, no website, system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and UPWRD cannot promise absolute security.
12Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and to any legal or contractual limits, you may be able to:
- request access to the personal information UPWRD holds about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request deletion of personal information where applicable; and
- ask questions about UPWRD's privacy practices.
Requests can be sent to hello@learnupwrd.com. UPWRD may need to verify your identity before responding, and some information may need to be retained for legal reasons.
13Children and minors
UPWRD’s products are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed at young children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact hello@learnupwrd.com so the situation can be reviewed.
Note for review: No specific age threshold is stated. Quebec rules on consent for minors’ personal information should be reviewed by a lawyer if UPWRD expects younger users.
14Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as UPWRD’s services and data practices evolve. The last updated date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
15Privacy contact
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to hello@learnupwrd.com.
Note for review: Quebec law generally requires a business to designate a person responsible for the protection of personal information and to publish their title and contact information. That person has not been identified and this requirement is still awaiting confirmation.
